Greetings, narrative-gaming folks, friends, and family! We are delighted to announce the return of NarraScope — now in hybrid form.

NarraScope 2023 will take place June 9th to 11th at the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, PA. We hope to see you there, if you can make it! But we know not everybody can. To support the community that has formed in our online years, we intend to stream all of our talks live.

Interested in speaking? Our call for proposals is now open! Proposals are due January 20th.

If you’re not already on the NarraScope mailing list, please join! All our news for 2023 will be announced there.

As in previous years, we invite attendees — both online and on-site — to join the NarraScope Discord. We’ll be using the Discord for real-time conference updates, hybrid Q&A sessions, and general social chatter.

COVID Policy

We will of course be obeying (and enforcing) the University’s coronavirus rules and policies.

On top of that, and out of the same abundance of caution that everybody’s been talking about for three years now, we require:

  • All NarraScope attendees must be fully vaccinated.
  • All attendees must wear masks while in indoor NarraScope event spaces, except while actively eating or presenting a talk.
  • Masking rules will apply regardless of community transmission level.
  • If you feel sick or get a positive test result, stay away. We will refund attendance fees for anyone who is unable to attend.

(Sadly, we will be skipping the singalong this year. Even with masks, that’s too much grody lung-air flying around the room.)
